The Becket Quarry Loop Trail is a local hiking path, meaning the local hikers have been hiking the loop trail that goes around the main quarry pit up the stone stairs and over the giant grout piles to see the spectacular views as far as Mount Greylock State Reservation for years.  The giant white birch have grown in on the granite piles with many relics like winches, piping, derricks and even a metal shed.  My favorite place of all is the largest grout piles with the rail running along top with 360 degree views of the massive granite piles, Gobble Mountain and Round Top Hill in Chester.  The original Mitchell Farm house can be seen in the hillside.  The Hilltown History is still alive in the woods of Becket!
