Saturday’s Flash Hike took us to Mount Greylock State Reservation , our intention was to hike the Northrup Trail to Rounds Rock however high winds and deep unpacked trails led us to hike ice and snowcovered Rockwell Road in crampons instead.  The 6.8 mile in and back trip had beautiful views West of New Ashford because the trees are leafless, we did attempt the Rounds Rock loop in snow knee deep at over 2,500 feet of elevation and made it to the Cheshire/New Ashford boundary stone.  Views of Jones Nose from Rockwell Road are equally outstanding in the winter.
