Black Panther, the lost ski area which originated in the 1930’s on the Burr Farm at what is now part of the Knightville Dam in Huntington. Saturday’s group hike toured the ski tows and ski runs complete with the documented history and a visit to Dexter Lyman’s farm at the top of the hill. A special visit from hilltown historian Jeff Penn with his incredible stories of the rope tow was included. Glorious weather to snowshoe, even breaking trail and gorgeous views from above the Knightville flood plain in the bright sun and 30 degree temps!
