Snowshoe Saturday before the storm around the Westfield Reservoir in Montgomery taking the old Moore Mountain House stage road by the oldest tourist resort in the hilltowns.  Moose Meadow Brook powered several mills along its banks and controlled the water flow with several dams.  Westfield Reservoir was most recently used to fight the Moose Meadow forest fires and the damage was evident along the trail with blackened trees and burned mountain laurel and brush.  Snow conditions currently are a deep crusty knee high, making snowshoes the only way to go. Parking at the intersection of Mountain House and Tekoa Road before the gate.
