THE DEFINITION OF HILLTOWN HISTORY We finish 2024 today by blogging about our adventure to find Jethro Jones of Blandford and how it came full circle to his direct descendant Jocelyn Jones Arnold.  In April of 2021 we set out to find the burial ground of Jethro Jones on an abandoned road and found it in bad condition where most gravestones were buried in dirt.  Jocelyn found our blog and is now bringing to light the untold history of her ancestors from the Revolutionary and Civil War eras, honoring a legacy once obscured and tarnished by racism and prejudice.  A special presentation was given at this year’s Blandford Fair co-hosted by the Blandford and Sheffield Historical Society.  Heather Wyman was able to take Jocelyn to the grave and with our GPS coordinates and data
It was an honor and pretty cool to meet Jocelyn, lots of teary eyes…and at that moment it all came full circle.  This Hilltown History has benefited those who wish to keep Hilltown History alive.
