Goldmine Falls in Chester, most beautiful waterfall hike of 2024.  Goldmine Brook starts at a Blandford swamp where the mountain springs flow and bring the brook to the Westfield River.  Quartz and giant sheets of mica line it’s banks in places, even a gold mine shaft. The old trail here was built by the CCC during the great depression and the old wooden bridge across it’s banks is long gone making for a tricky crossing.  This trail continues to Mica Mine Road where it passes the old mine cut eventually connecting to the Newman H. Marsh Memorial Loop with its glorious lookouts.
