York Lake at Sandisfield State Forest, along the man made lake, built by the CCC, Civilian Conservation Corps during the great depression. The Pond Loop Trail around York, was also built by the CCC. This gentle, flat trail is just over 2 miles with some rocks and many bridges and boardwalks, excellent for snowshoeing. Interpretive Guide here:
