Center Pond is a small natural spring-fed lake in Becket.  In the early 1900’s a nearby paper mill, long since gone, built a dam and lock valve at one end to control runoff and power the mill’s manufacturing process.  There are two summer camps and many seasonal cottages. The beach is only for Becket residents but the boat launch at the end of Mecum Road is public.
