Apple Valley Overlook located on Hawley Road in Ashfield, part of the Bear Swamp hiking area map directly across from Bear Swamp at #930, this overlook is part of the Ashfield Trails network.  The short section of trail from parking on Hawley road is a gradual quarter mile in and back climb to the top of an farmers field with impressive views North to Charlemont and Route 2 and 8A to the Vermont Line, photos do it no justice and a perfect ending if you are hiking at Bear Swamp. Short and sweet for beginners.
