Hike leader Stephanie joined up with Hilltown Hiker member Heather to backpack section hike the Appalachian Trail this weekend starting from the Jacobs Ladder Scenic Byway overnite parking near Goose Pond on the Lee/Becket line heading North. This section rises steeply up Becket mountain into October Mountain State Forest, continuing up Walling Mountain around Finnerty Pond and up Bald Top. They chose to camp at the shelter mid-way meeting other thru hikers and even got to experience a little trail magic! They hiked 11.9 miles in two days. Joanne and Paddy started them off on some of the first leg… Congratulations to these ladies!
