Continuing our quest to hike the entire Yokun Ridge on the High Road Trail, we checked out a few spur trails. There are many mountain bike trails on this ridge, most I hiked back in the day when there were no signs or maps. We started on Reservoir Road in Lenox where the High Road crosses so choices here are to head North on old Dunbar Road for some cellar holes or South to Olivia’s Overlook. Also at this junction is Lenox Reservoir. Reservoir Road continues to this but on foot only. On this section we took the High Road to the mountain bike trail Broken Thumb, went by Gige’s Bench and to the Kennedy Cliffs and back on Broken Thumb for a three mile loop. Use the Trailforks overlay to see the bike trails if you are using GAIA GPS.
