A few weeks back, we set out to explore more of the Granville State Forest. Our route was starting at the Hubbard River Trail on Hubbard’s River to the end approx 2.5 miles until we reached old discontinued Hartland Hollow Road and explored over the bridge, right on the Connecticut State Line. Trekking back just 200 feet is the Ore Hill Trail junction which climbs above the gorge for about 2.5 miles, this trail is very washed out until you reach the old roads, we followed it to the summit where logging has opened up glorious views South and East. The trail then heads to the main State Forest Road on a flat wet trail, to West Hartland Hollow Road as we looped back to the cars.
