The Roaring Brook Trail in Lenox/Washington, we did a loop led by Tom Hoffman part of a historical tour of this part of the October Mountain State Forest. Starting with parking on New Lenox Road (there are several pull offs on the dirt road), we walked down the road along Mill Brook passing several dams and a sawmill, James Taylor’s driveway and on to New Lenox Cemetery then left to Roaring Brook Road and up the trail past Tory Cave into Washington and around Dewey Hill and then back out to New Lenox Road, this section is a three mile loop, see other posts for more from this hike! The Roaring Brook Trail is washed out in places and very rocky with elevation and beautiful!
