Steepletop in New Marlborough/Sandisfield 4.4 miles total of complete peace in the forest on old roads, passing spectacular swamp land, crossing the brook with bridges, old growth trees, stone walls and cellar holes. Parking is off New Marlborough/Monterey Road, dirt road most of the way look out for 684 the trailhead is shared with a residential driveway. We took Louise Lane for the first 2.2 mile loop then Edie’s Way to complete the entire trail system. 1,230 acres total here, it’s Berkshire Natural Resources Council largest reserve. Easy hiking for all abilities and perfect for cross country skiing! Wildlife is abundant here as well as the most spectacular raw nature photo opportunities. This one is well worth exploring, we loved it!
