North Chester Cemetery found, located about a football field away from the intersection of Smith and Captain Bemis Road high up on Smith Hill. The earliest ancestors of Chester can be found here as North Chester Historic Distric was the earliest of settlements. Field stones are also present here, those graves are all upheaved from the ground forming raised mounds where they lay. Fog and rain for today’s hike was a perfect setting for this one. Old Smith Road makes for excellent walking as the road is closed, parking at the bottom is a must.
