The Berkshire and Becket Silk Mill Ruins on Main Street (Rte. 8) in North Becket, next to Ballou Memorial Park. 1890 this mill was built next to Yokum Brook, employed 80 workers many commuted by train from Pittsfield. By 1926 production was 60,000 spools of thread a day. The plant was destroyed in the 1927 flood, there was no insurance and one week later the remains burned.
