Monument Mountain in Great Barrington. We went in from the bypass trail starting on Route 183 on Willow’s Trail, then to the bypass trail with a brook and bridge and a pleasant forest trek on the area between Flag and Monument Mtn. We then took a left onto the Mohican Monument Trail to inscription rock, then really started climbing on the Peeskawso Peak trail to the 1642 foot mark and its narrow rocky top. 2.2 miles for this stretch in and back, serious climbing of stone steps and terrifying at the top (for me at least) the new sign warning you people have died here falling off is no joke I hug the rocks on all fours everytime I hike here… and another 2 miles on Willow’s Trail back to parking on 183 almost across from Taft Farm.
